In 2010, Johnson lost over 120 pounds in one year and needed a way to repair her digestive system after such a significant weight loss. Her extensive knowledge of healthy foods and physical fitness experience lead her to write the book From This to That to help others with their weight loss journey. The book has a three-step guide with a meal plan and a journal for tracking progress. 

Thorough research and years of experience culminated in the creation of Vitiman Kandie, a line of cold-pressed juices, all-natural herbs, tea blends, and other healthy catering options. Additionally, she offers health coaching, meal plan guidance, and wellness boxes with products needed for a cleanse. 

In all aspects of her work, Johnson is passionate about educating and building a space for people to learn about healthier plant-based options. But her commitment to fostering community goes beyond sharing her experience through Vitiman Kandie; Johnson partners with local Cleveland groups to donate food and clothing weekly.

How did your journey with cannabis or CBD begin?

MJ: I began my journey with cannabis because my mom suffered from lupus, and I wanted to help her use all-natural herbs. In 2020 I started to suffer from knee pain after years of being an avid marathon runner and fitness guru and going through menopause at an early age.

How has cannabis or CBD helped you manage your mental and physical health?
MJ: CBD helped my mom with her lupus and my knee pain and helped to keep my hormones balanced throughout my first stages of pre-menopause.

What role does CBD play in your fitness regimen?
MJ: It relieves my muscle soreness after workouts.

What three tips would you give women regarding CBD and cannabis and their physical health and well-being?
MJ: 1. Do not be afraid to ask your doctor how CBD can help relieve some of your menopausal symptoms.
