CannaCurious Magazine took wine down Wednesday to a whole new level with their first signature event  ‘The Rolling Parlor’ held on October 8th at Cyth & Co. in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The room was filled with excitement as guests were welcomed with a complimentary cocktail ticket and vibrant sounds from  DJ Bryan the MC  getting the party started. This event also culminated their 1-year anniversary so there was lots to celebrate!

As guests took their seats, each table had goodie bags filled with treats from event sponsors like Aunt Jenn’s Tea and Spices,  a print copy of the highly anticipated CannaCurious Fall 2021 Issue, and of course their very own rolling kit.  Before the event started,  guests mixed and mingled while enjoying light bites from the appetizer station. General consensus– the mac and cheese was amazing!

Whether you came to ‘The Rolling Parlor’ by yourself or with friends,  the event was intimate enough that you felt comfortable striking up conversations with fellow attendees. The atmosphere made you feel instantly relaxed,  like you were amongst friends. Plus, if you are at an event called ‘The Rolling Parlor’  there’s a good chance you are amongst pretty open minded individuals  which  makes for easier connections.

The Rolling Parlor Begins

Once all the guests settled in, CannaCurious Magazine co-founders Tekisha Harvey and Diana Sanmiguel took the stage. Beaming with pride they shared their appreciation of the support they have received over the past year and hopes for the future.

“Our  goal is to destigmatize the use of cannabis amongst women by educating them about the healing properties of the plant.  This community that we are building is just the beginning, ” says Diana.

Representatives from Columbia Care, a local medical cannabis dispensary educated guests about the process of getting a medical marijuana card in Florida and the benefits of purchasing from a regulated dispensary.

Once all the housekeeping items were out of the way,  the ‘Roll Master’ Cailin Byrne from Oh Cai Creative taught guests how to roll the perfect joint using hemp flower from our friends at Destino Farms.  Some of the less experienced guests like myself had a little trouble getting our roll  just right, but with the help of Cailin and personal tips from the self proclaimed rolling experts in the room we figured it out!

After the class ended, the  bravest rollers then had the opportunity to show off their skills by participating in the most creative rolled joint and the fastest roller contest. This was definitely one of the highlights of the evening.

DJ Bryan the MC kept the party going while guests continued to mix and mingle. When asked about her experience at the Rolling Parlor, guest Karlene described it as a fun and interactive experience.

“I learned how to roll correctly and they did a fantastic job explaining the benefits of CBD. Real women, breaking the stigma and educating us on the cannabis world.”

All in all ‘The Rolling Parlor’ was a huge success. I caught up with co-founder Tekisha at the end to get her thoughts on the event.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout especially for our first event. We’re excited to bring more fun and educational events to our CannaCurious community.”

A special thank you goes out to the event sponsors Destino Farms, Columbia Care, Flower Stampede, The Green Baker and Cyth & Co. for hosting our event.
